Should I wear more make-up than usual?

Q. I'm not used to wearing very much makeup, I generally just wear mascara and a bit of blusher. My friend has said I should really wear a bit more on my wedding day - especially for the photos - but I don't want it to look or feel heavy. How can I create a natural look and keep the makeup I apply to a minimum?

A. Susan Bradfield says: This is a very common concern for brides-to-be. Your friend is right, you should wear make-up for your wedding day, but this doesn't mean you have to wear a lot. The aim is to look beautiful and flawless so that you can be proud of your photos for years to come.
Bridal make-up should help transform you into a vision of radiance. Your foundation should look and feel like a second skin, so only choose shades that complement your skin tone. Remember your eyes are the key to your soul and the main focal point in photos, so make sure their shape is defined.
Lastly, have fresh-looking cheeks followed by a natural lip colour. Follow these easy steps and you're sure to look and feel confident on the day.

Help me recreat 1960s lips

Q. I really like the '60s-style pale lip look. Is this too high maintenance for a wedding day, or is there a way of creating this look that doesn't need touching up every few minutes?

A. Susan Bradfield says: This is definitely a look that can be achieved for the day, and
is also easy to maintain. Preparing your lips is key. Firstly,
apply your foundation over your lips to provide a good base and neutralise the colour. I would recommend using a lip liner that matches the lip shade that you have chosen. If you can?t fi nd an exact match then opt for a transparent liner which will ensure your colour does not bleed. Then, apply your lip shade using a lip brush, blot using a tissue, reapply the colour, and blot again.
You will need to reapply the colour through the day but is quick and easy to maintain. You can always change the look for the evening by adding a clear gloss.
