Early days…

Leanne and Miles met in 2005 in Bar Absolute, Hitchin, where Leanne was working at the time. "After hiding behind the bar on many occasions, too shy to serve him, I finally plucked up the courage to talk to him," says Leanne. "I soon found out that he had a very cheeky nature and that he was really good fun to be with."

The proposal…

On their one-year anniversary, Miles took Leanne for dinner at La Bella Vita in Hitchin, after asking Leanne's father for permission to propose earlier in the day. "I was hopeful that Leanne wouldn't be any the wiser, although looking back, I suspect I may have acted a little oddly in the run-up to popping the question," says Miles. When it came to the big moment, Miles pushed a ring box towards Leanne, asking: "Will you do me the honour of marrying me?"

"I was so shocked," remembers Leanne. "I couldn't speak for crying, and it was ages before I could get a 'yes' out of my mouth! I was so happy."

The venues…

The couple decided to hold their ceremony at St Mary's Church, close to where they live in Hitchin. They looked at a few reception venues, but decided on the Inn at Woburn for its homely, country feel.

The attendants…

Leanne's bridesmaids were best friends Linzi and Tasha. They wore shocking pink two-piece gowns from Alfred Sung, which suited both girls' shapes perfectly.

The dress…

Leanne's classic ivory dress was by Paloma Blanca, which she found in Morgan Davies, Hitchin. "It totally blew my budget, but I had to have it," says Leanne. "The minute I put it on, I knew it was the one for me; it suited my figure and made me feel a million dollars."

Miles wore a grey tailcoat with matching grey trousers, and a pink cravat to match the bridesmaids' dresses.

The flowers…

The flower arrangements were Leanne's favourite, gerberas, which were included in the bouquets and buttonholes. They tied in neatly with the colour scheme.

The transport…

A classic entrance, Leanne arrived at the church in a beautiful vintage 1934 Rolls-Royce.

Top tips…

"Keep your cool. If you're laid back about your wedding, your day will be laid back, too." says Leanne.
